Award Details

The Kendra Chan SEEDS Fellowship, in partnership with the US Fish and Wildlife Service in Ventura, CA, will run from May 2026 through August 2027.  The award includes:

1. A 12-week internship through ESA, with the USFWS in Ventura, CA.
2. Housing, travel and a $500/week stipend.
3. Participation and travel expenses to the 2026 SEEDS Leadership Meeting in Yosemite, CA. 
4. Participation and travel expenses to the 2027 SEEDS National Field Trip (spring).
5. Participation and travel expenses to the 2027 ESA Annual Meeting in Toronto, Canada.

The SEEDS Fellows get to experience every aspect of the SEEDS program with just one simple application! This is a fully funded fellowship.

Eligibility

• Must be a US Citizen
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be a member of a California SEEDS Chapter, and graduate by/after May 2027.

Requirements

• Maintain regular and reliable communication via email, phone, and web meetings
• Must participate in scheduled web meetings with SEEDS staff and other program components. 
• Meet all deadlines for communications; summer report, research presentation and travel to ther SEEDS events. 
• The fellow is encouraged to write and publish about their experience in ESA blogs and social media.
